Louisville a four seed ?

I'm in dire need of an explanation as to how Louisville received a number four seed in the NCAA Tournament!

I thought Rick Pitino lobbying for a number one seed after capturing the inaugural American Athletic Conference Tournament was hilarious.  Apparently the selection committee didn't feel the same.

Louisville ended the weekend with a 29-5 record .  The American Conference is obviously minuscule in comparison to the old Big East Conference.  The Committee treated Louisville as if they played in the Mountain West this year.

Rick Pitino remains one of the best college coaches in the land.  NCAA Basketball is better because of Rick Pitino.  Coach Pitino is a threat to cut down the nets regardless of where Louisville is seeded.  The beef may prove to be irrelevant but Louisville has a legitimate gripe as to where they've been positioned in the field of 64.

Strength of schedule certainly played a role in this decision.  A four seed is not the worst thing in the world.  Being seeded number one does not guarantee anything.  The day will come when a number one see loses its opening round game.  Either way Louisville seems poised towards another national championship run.
