Knicks recap

Tonight the New York Knicks continued to take advantage of an extremely soft spot in their season.  With tonight's win the Knicks extend their winning streak to five games, the longest of the season thus far.

Cole Aldrich stepped up in emphatic fashion tonight.  With Amar'e Stoudemire and Tyson Chandler both out for the Knicks,  Aldrich stepped up to fill in the void posting an impressive stat line of 12 points, 10 rebounds and three blocks.

Carmelo Anthony continued his superb season with yet another dominant performance.  Carmelo scored 34 points and grabbed nine rebounds in 39 minutes of action.  Carmelo is often criticized for not helping his teammates around him get easier shots. On The First play of the fourth quarter Carmelo drove the baseline drawing two defenders at the basket.  He proceeded to double pump and find Pablo Prigioni open for a three.  New York needs Anthony to continue to make unselfish plays down the stretch as teams will continue to send the double.

The Knicks Achilles heel this season has been finishing off games.  Tonight New York outscored Boston 31-17 in the final period.  At one point the Celtics cut the lead to nine.

Every time Tim Hardaway Jr. has a good game the future looks brighter for the Knicks.  I can not say enough about this rookie.  Coming into this season little was expected of Hardaway Jr.  Tonight the rookie scored 22 points, added three rebounds and a steal.

Jeff Green was great tonight for Boston.  Green scored 27 points in a losing effort.  Green usually has big games against the Knicks dating back to last years playoff series.

As of right now the Knicks are 3.0 games behind Atlanta for the final playoff spot in the east.

Knicks tape!
