Pacers add another BIG

Andrew Bynum scored eight points and grabbed 10 rebounds in the Indiana Pacers victory over the Boston Celtics tonight.  The fact that Bynum contributed is a surprise in itself.  His career has been in limbo since leaving the Lakers.  Once one of the best centers in the NBA, Bynum is as mysterious a character you will find in the NBA.

Although Andrew Bynum may seem like a lost cause at times, the fact remains he is seven feet tall.  The Miami Heat considered signing Bynum but ultimately opted not to sign the troubled big man.  The Pacers now have two big bodies they can throw at the Heat if necessary.  Miami may have made a mistake by passing on Bynum.  If nothing else they would have at least denied the Pacers the opportunity to sign Bynum.  If Andrew Bynum can stay healthy he will be a factor in the playoffs.

The Pacers were a very good basketball team last year.  This season they've made the transition from good to elite.  With this latest addition Indiana has to feel like this their year.
