Another Laker Spanking

Boy oh boy how things can change fast in the NBA.  Just three years ago the Los Angeles Lakers were the defending NBA champions.  The OKC Thunder were still the new kids on the block.  Tonight that seems like ages ago.  With 9:30 remaining in the fourth quarter OKC leads the Lakers 109-86.  At this point there's no point to continue watching this one.  Stick a fork in the Lakers they're done.

Jodie Meeks is someone to keep your eye on this off season.  The 26 year old off guard has averaged a career best 15.3ppg in 59 games this season.  The Lakers only have three players signed past this season.  Jodie Meeks as well as the rest of the current Laker squad will spend the remainder of the season auditioning for NBA and European scouts.

Meeks has the potential to score in bunches.  He scored 42 points against OKC a few days ago.  Basketball junkies can recall Meeks 54 point performance while at Kentucky.  The guy can flat out score and would be a nice addition to a number of teams around the league.  Just some food for thought.

The addition of Caron Butler is yet another intelligent decision by the Thunder front office.  Butler along with Jeremy Lamb provide the Thunder with an extra scoring punch.  Every time Butler shot the ball tonight he looked a Little more comfortable.

At this rate the Lakers don't look like they'll be able to compete with OKC in the near future.  The last thing Kobe Bryant plans on doing is retire a loser.
